Read-along stories for the living-room TV

Story time, starring

Picture stories your family reads aloud together. Your child reads one character, you read the others, and the bunnies hop, dig and bake their way through the story.

How it works

Everyone on the sofa gets a part

No app to install. Open a story in a browser, put it on the big screen and pass the mouse around.

1

Put it on the big screen

A smart-TV browser, a laptop with an HDMI cable, or screen sharing from a laptop all work.

2
Your turn!

Point at whose turn it is

An arrow bounces over the next speaker. Point the mouse at them and their line appears in big, easy letters.

3

Read your part out loud

Your child reads their character's short lines. You read yours. A five-question quiz with stars ends the story.

Good questions

Before you settle on the sofa

Who is it for?

Children who are starting to read. The child's lines are short, four to eight common words, in a typeface made for early readers. The grown-ups' lines are a little longer.

Do we need a smart TV?

No. Any screen with a web browser works. Most families plug a laptop into the TV or share its screen, then use the mouse or trackpad from the sofa.

What does a personalised story change?

The title, the name tags, the lines the characters say and the quiz all use your child's name, the grown-ups' names and what your child calls them, like “Mumma” or “Dadda”.

How do we get our story?

After you order, we send you a private link to your family's story. Open it whenever you like, as many times as you like.

Which languages?

English for now. Hindi and Marathi are planned next.
